 Update News 

The next reunion will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

in 2010!

Sunday, July 6th, 2008:

  We all had lunch together at the Lao Temple; the Baci ceremony was immediately followed.  Some of our former lycée students left for the airport right after the Baci.  Those remained there were entertained by Phianedonh and Vieng Anamai and Bouakham. We all had a very good time. Thank you to Chalouaphone and Dara along with many friends in Des Moines, Phianedonh, Air Bountham and and Les Cigales, Vieng Anamai and Bouakham, Into and many other former lycée students from all over the places to help make the reunion a success.  We all left Des Moines with fond memories and renew friendships to our long lost classmates and friends from our teenage times!!!! 

We hope to see you all in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with Champakhome and Saysamone as our generous hosts along with many friends in Vancouver.

 Saturday, July 5th, 2008:

Starting out the day with sightseeing the famous "morning market" in downtown Des Moines.  The morning or farmer's market opens every Saturday from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon in the summer, and it is located in on the street where people wander and stroll around the place from one vendor stand to another searching for the special items or exotic and tasty dishes. We then proceed to have lunch together from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the  Buffet City located at 8801 University Suite#107, Clive, IA 50325.

From 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we had a friendly soccer match between our former lycée students against the local team at Youth Sports Complex, located at SE 8th street,  Altoona, IA 50001.  It was fun seeing our teams substituting at will. This allowed all dressing up for the match to be fully participated.  The two teams taking pictures together for souvenir.

The main attraction or  "bal du Lycée"  was at the Polk County Convention Complex from  6:00 pm to 12:30 am.  The night was fantastic!

Friday, July 4th, 2008:

It was lively and interesting to see many long lost friends and old classmates reacquired their friendships.  Some talked about the good old days - when the were young.  They are of course not getting old but getting younger and wiser as they move into the the unknown territory: the gray area.  So far we don't see many of us with those hair color yet... 

The first day together at the Northeast side of Des Moines was entertained by Phianedonh Southam while old friends started out the evening with their dinner.  As the night moved along, the place was getting lively with dance and more music from old friends.  Singkham Khamone and friends from Washington state followed Phianedonh Southam to entertain old friends and classmates to have the urge to be out on the dance floor. Vieng Anamai and Bouakham were next with beautiful voice and music while Les Cigales provided a brief show of the main attraction "Bal du Lycée" would be like on the following Saturday.  It was the night to remember when many of our old friends were up on the stage to sing while many others were on the dance floor or listened to the music.     

Thanks to Dara and Chalouayphone along with many friends to help make the night an evening to remember by ensuring the the buffet table were replenish with tasty homemade food and drinks!!!
